Top Ten Stand-Up Comics

Having gone through a couple of months of creative blockage it was kind of serendipitous that I should come across a tweet last night from @suzie81blog

46 Ideas To Beat Blogger’s Block

I have seen loads of different lists of blog prompts over the past couple of months, but Suzie’s stood out to me (I think it was because it had 46 items and not the nicely rounded 50)
Reading through the list it ignited ideas in my head and a spark set off in my head.

So I present to you today:

Top Ten Stand Up Comics

Just so we are clear, these are Stand Up Comics and not my favourite FUNNY people, that is a very different list where only a few of the people on this list would seem. To me Stand Up is a wholly different beast to any other kind of Comedy. To be a Stand Up you are totally alone and vulnerable to whatever the audience will throw at you. You are the ultimate lamb to the slaughter.

Be aware, the videos linked here will probably have bad language and content that may offend. View at your own discretion.

This list is in no particular order. Each comic on this list is here because they have at one time or another lifted me out some dark moment and bought light into my life. If I am honest, I could have made a list of 20/25 Stand-Up comics and could have still kept going, but you have to stop somewhere. Maybe, I’ll do a second list sometime.

1. Bill Hicks

2. Robin Williams

3. Jasper Carrott

4. George Carlin

5. Rowan Atkinson

6. Sarah Millican

7. Eddie Izzard

8. Ron White

9. Billy Connolly

10. Nina Conti

That is my list, have you found anyone new in there? Have I tickled your funny bone on this Hump Day? Is there anyone you think I should take a look at? Why don’t you let me know in the comments or on the Facebook page.
